Dimensional Comparison Advanced Button The advanced button allows the user to perform analysis using other increments, bands and resolutions. |

Default: This button turns off the advanced features and returns the settings to the default mode of 25 Hz Starting Band and 1/3 octave resolution. Increment: This tool allows the user to choose the fractional increment the analysis will progress through. For metric analysis the default is .25 meter otherwise it is .5 feet. Be aware that lower this fraction can greatly increase the calculation time. Starting Band: These option selectors allow the user to choose either the traditional band demarcations or a floating set of bands calculated based upon the lowest calculated mode. 25 Hz - This setting sets bands based upon the traditional band demarcations used on most test equipment. Floating - The Floating bands are based upon the lowest calculated mode becoming the lower limit for the calibrating band. This means that the bands are shifted to show if the lowest mode may still only be less than 1/3 or 1/6 octave away from the next mode while the traditional setting may place them in separate bands. Resolution: This option selector allows the user to choose either 1/3 octave bands or 1/6 octave bands for the analysis. This useful given that the 1/6 octave is often referred to as a closer approximation of the resolution limit (critical band) of human hearing in the deep bass frequency region. |
